The Truth must be told no matter what so Justice can live!

Parental Hindrances faced by Reverts to Islam and other Islamic matters

Syeikh Abdur Raheem Green answers a question from a revert to Islam as to how to deal with her parents who stopped talking with her after she reverted to Islam?

Little do these clueless Non Muslim parents know how much Islam enjoins its adherents to love and respect them as long as they both shall live?

The status of the mother in Islam is so much more higher than anyone else in the world to the Muslim.

In fact when a man asked the Prophet Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam as to whom should he pay the greatest respect to, the Blessed Messenger answered,” Your Mother!”

The man then asked,” Then to whom?”

The Prophet answered,” Your mother!”

The man asked again,” After that to whom?”

Again the Prophet answered,” Your mother!”

The man asked again,” Then to whom?”

The Prophet replied,” Your father!”.

Subhanallah! Such is the high status given by Islam to the position of the mothers.

In Surah Luqman Chapter 31 Verse 14 in the Holy Al Qur’an, Allahu Rabbi has revealed:

31:14
Transliteration

Wawassayna al-insanabiwalidayhi hamalat-hu ommuhu wahnan AAalawahnin wafisaluhu fee AAamayni ani oshkur lee waliwalidaykailayya almaseer

Sahih International

And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.

I have learned of how reverts to Islam often come to be shunned and ostracized by their parents without knowing that only in Islam do we know of religious decrees to respect and honor one’s parents above all others and to be of service to them as best as we can except if they call one to commit any sense of disobedience to Allah!

Cikgu Aliya often shares with us her experiences with regard to her parents when she first embraced Islam in her blog Musings of a Mualaf. She has written many excellent articles with words coming straight from her blessed heart.

I’d like to share with you one such article and this concerns her still Buddhist mom.

Mothers hold a special place in everyone’s heart but then we also sadly hear of some who do not respect their parents and have harmed them just because they wanted to have something from their parents and when denied resorted to criminal violence in getting what they wanted?

It’s terrible but that’s the reality nowadays.

It could also be related to the kind of mothers we read about nowadays?

How often do we hear about some unwed mothers who throw their illegitimate offsprings into the garbage dumps or even try to flush their baby down the toilets after giving birth to them whilst the irresponsible father is nowhere to be seen?

Its usually the ignorant teenage moms who are left to face the music whilst their paramours are long gone after the girls get pregnant and left to suffer the consequences of their out of marriage sexual affairs.

Such is the calamity of illicit sex between those who are young and irreligious or even if they know the rights from the wrongs become victims of their own raging lusts and succumb to the temptations of the flesh!

The high status of the mothers is sullied by the advent of liberalism and abandonment of time honored social and cultural values that held society together.

Whether we like it or not, our society’s reluctance to nip the problems in the bud have given way to an avalanche of sexually related social problems in a growing number of such infanticide amongst the teenagers and young adults of this developing nation.

Ignorance about the dictates of one’s religion such as Islam adds to our society’s problems and the failure of those religious officers to do what they are supposed to do in the first place compounds the state of affairs as far as religious observances are concerned in this country that proclaims itself to be that as a Muslim nation?

Nothing could be further than the truth for Mamluk al Malaisie is a country ruled by those who don’t really practice what they tend to preach?

It is the parents who decide as to what we become?

Whether we turn up to be good Muslims or amongst the ignorant ones depend as to what our parents or guardians teach us?

The responsibility to nurture and guide us all also depends on our authorities. They can’t just shirk the trust we give unto them. Unfortunately, we see the ones who are supposed to be in power over us in Malaysia often fail to do that!

Islam is just given lip service and the ones in authority over us are often quite lethargic as far as carrying out true Dakwah efforts in educating and guiding the impressionable youths we have in Malaysia.

Non Muslims are not given the true picture as to what Islam actually is here in this multi-ethnic, multi-faithed country and quite often we see Islam being portrayed as a stifling way of life when in actuality it was revealed to us as the only way of life meant to liberate and free mankind from all unnecessary dogma and misguidance caused by those who are out to take advantage of human’s ignorance.

Treacherous ones amongst the authorities often commit serious criminal breaches of trust by the citizens of this country and are only interested to advance their own agendas and causes, namely in feathering their own palatial nests.

I have often shared my ideas with my friends who are in such authority and am glad to state that one such friend is the learned Mufti of Perlis, Dr Hj Juanda Jaya, who agrees with me that the learned ones must be willing to go into the midst of our society to teach and share knowledge about Islam to all.

One of my suggestions to him is to start having Q & A sessions concerning Islamic Affairs after the Jumaat prayers. He agrees in principle but says that a lot of preparation has to be done in the sense of having qualified and capable scholars rising up to the challenge? Let’s see if this idea of mine comes to be?

Insya Allah!

In countries such as the Netherlands, religion is fast seen to be disappearing in one of Europe’s most secularized country.

Here’s a video about the secular country published back in 2006 :

Even the Christian churches are seeing a serious drop in their attendees and all kinds of sin is proliferating at an alarming rate.

Their Western society is going from bad to worse and secularists such as Geert Wilders go all out to try and stem the mighty tide of Islam that is sweeping away many of the atheists and agnostics or those without religion into the sweet embrace of Islam.

Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and Princess Maxima knew better to observe and respect the Islamic laws pertaining to the modesty of women when Their Majesties recently visited a masjid in Abu Dhabi:

As expected, her observance of the Code of Modesty for women has come under attack from one of her most despicable subjects in the form of the lunatic Geert Wilders of the Freedom Party!

Her Majesty promptly dismissed it as reported here

We too have our forms of Geert Wilder’s crazed mentality. We often find such weirdos spewing such hatred in sites such as Malaysiakini, etc.

Malaysian PM Najib’s lethargy and his cousin’s ineffectiveness adds to our problems. They’ll answer for it in the Akhirat, for sure!

Islam is the true faith from God Almighty that raises women from being mere objects of sexual gratification in the days of yore to the high standards that they enjoy under the shade of Ar Rahman.

From my observance of human cultures that differentiate from one country to another, it is the lack of religious knowledge that causes some societies to abuse and neglect the rights of their women to enjoy safety, protection and respect that God Almighty commands us to give to our mothers.

Understanding Islam and observing its principles is all up to each individual professing it but society as a whole has its responsibilities in seeing to it that we all look out for and help each other in order to bring about a society that is peaceful and harmonious where all can live in relative safety and goodwill.

Those who have the knowledge of Islam ought to share their ‘Ilm with those who have yet to learn of it and to go about doing so in ways that are best and most gracious.

There’s a Fiqh Convention starting today at the PWTC and it advertises about 18 scholars of Islam hailing mostly from those oriented to the Opposition Party  @ PAS.

Its not often that one sees religious figures from PAS congregating at the head office premises of UMNO, the ruling Malay party heading the Malaysian Federal Government.

Quite an interesting development, I say. Who knows? Maybe, we might just get to see some of these PAS religious figures interact with those from the UMNO leadership if their paths do cross whilst they are at it?

I say that it’s good for the Muslims of this country to sit down and discuss with each other in the best ways to look out for the good of all its citizens and the availability of the best facilities at the PWTC should make it an excellent venue to look for the common good amongst us and not turn it to be a centre for dissension amongst the Malaysian Muslim ummah.

Maybe we can look forward to seeing the PWTC be used to hold forums and seminars on Islamic affairs and see the participation of all parties concerned to bring about a better future for all according to what Allahu Rabbi commands us to?

Insya Allah.

Allahu Ta’ala calls upon us to return to Him if we have differences amongst us:

31:15
Transliteration

Wa-in jahadaka AAala antushrika bee ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun fala tutiAAhumawasahibhuma fee addunya maAAroofanwattabiAA sabeela man anaba ilayya thumma ilayyamarjiAAukum faonabbi-okum bima kuntum taAAmaloon

Sahih International

But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.

Wouldn’t those who claim to be the scholars of Islam want to heed His Call?

May Allah bless and guide us all.

Ameen.
