Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
Dear brothers and sisters in Islam,
We are today living in the Akhirul Zaman ~ The End Times. There are many authentic hadiths from Rasulullah Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam warning us about the various trials and tribulations that will assail us from every corner and aspect of our life during our existence here in these challenging times.
There will be many who are caught unawares that whatever they think is the truth might just turn out to be nothing more than falsehood and deceptions put forth to them as logical and so called rational concepts or ways of ‘progressive and critical thinking’.
To those of us who study and research about our faith of Al Islam and also in the field of comparative religion, we know firmly that except for Islam, all other forms of worship is nothing but falsehood.
There are those amongst the ummah who have a tendency to engage in false conversation about Allah’s Revelations by mocking at them and misconclude about the commands and orders of Allah Azza Wa Jalla concerning our way of life.
In Surah Al-An’aam Chapter 6 Verse 68, Allahu Ta’ala clearly warns us from associating with such kind and to stay away from them till they turn to another topic. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala also orders us not to sit in their company or to associate with those people who are the dhaalimin ~ polytheists and wrongdoers, etc.
| Bismillahirrahmanirrahim In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful |
Wa-itha raayta allatheenayakhoodoona fee ayatina faaAAridAAanhum hatta yakhoodoo fee hadeethinghayrihi wa-imma yunsiyannaka ashshaytanufala taqAAud baAAda aththikra maAAaalqawmi aththalimeen
And when you see those who engage in [offensive] discourse concerning Our verses, then turn away from them until they enter into another conversion. And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not remain after the reminder with the wrongdoing people.
And when you (Muhammad SAW) see those who engage in a false conversation about Our Verses (of the Quran) by mocking at them, stay away from them till they turn to another topic. And if Shaitan (Satan) causes you to forget, then after the remembrance sit not you in the company of those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.).
Dan apabila engkau melihat orang-orang yang memperkatakan dengan cara mencaci atau mengejek-ejek ayat-ayat Kami, maka tinggalkanlah mereka sehingga mereka memperkatakan soal yang lain; dan jika engkau dilupakan oleh Syaitan (lalu engkau duduk bersama mereka), maka janganlah engkau duduk lagi bersama-sama kaum yang zalim itu, sesudah engkau mengingati (akan larangan itu).
Ya Ikhwanul Muslimin na wal Muslimat,
It’s not easy to bring those who have strayed from the Fitrah of Al Islam as a result of their giving in to their Ego’s and Naf’s into thinking that they know better than Our Supreme Lord and Creator by coming up with their falsehood and negating whatever Rasul Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam himself has conveyed to them by questioning each and every hadith of Muhammad al Mustafa that is authentic because they reason about this and that order or enjoinment of the Blessed Prophet with skepticism.
In such cases when we are forced to be caught being with them, we ought to exercise our choice and leave them be.
Do not waste our precious remaining time here on Earth by engaging in discourse with such kind for it would be better for us to carry out useful Dakwah efforts in sharing the Truth of Al Islam with others who are searching for a meaning to their lives and want to seek the Salvation of Allahu Rabbi.
The only exception to this is for the purpose of dakwah or to refute their false talk, but it is not permissible for the engager to accept their opinions or to remain quiet about their conduct by continuing to remain in their company or still associate with them.
In Surah At Taubah Chapter 9 Verse 96, Allahu Ta’ala says to us:
| Bismillahirrahmanirrahim In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful |
Yahlifoona lakum litardawAAanhum fa-in tardaw AAanhum fa-inna Allaha layarda AAani alqawmi alfasiqeen
They swear to you so that you might be satisfied with them. But if you should be satisfied with them – indeed, Allah is not satisfied with a defiantly disobedient people.
They (the hypocrites) swear to you (Muslims) that you may be pleased with them, but if you are pleased with them, certainly Allah is not pleased with the people who are Al-Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).
Mereka bersumpah kepada kamu supaya kamu reda akan mereka; oleh itu jika kamu reda akan mereka, maka sesungguhnya Allah tidak reda akan kaum yang fasik.
Thus, we who are Muslims and striving to be the Mukmins, ought to know better as to whom we choose to be our companions and acquaintances?
We must learn to differentiate between those who are striving to improve themselves in matters concerning the Deen and those who are just out to destroy it from within by coming up with their false teachings and understandings about what has already been decreed and decided by Allahu Ta’ala and His Blessed Messenger, Khataman Nabiyyi Muhammad al Mustafa, Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam!
Surah Al Ahzab Chapter 33 Verse 36:
| Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Dengan nama Allah, Maha Pengasih, Maha Penyayang. |
Wama kana limu/minin walamu/minatin itha qada Allahu warasooluhuamran an yakoona lahumu alkhiyaratu min amrihim waman yaAAsiAllaha warasoolahu faqad dalla dalalanmubeena
It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error.
Dan tidaklah harus bagi orang-orang yang beriman, lelaki dan perempuan – apabila Allah dan RasulNya menetapkan keputusan mengenai sesuatu perkara – (tidaklah harus mereka) mempunyai hak memilih ketetapan sendiri mengenai urusan mereka. Dan sesiapa yang tidak taat kepada hukum Allah dan RasulNya maka sesungguhnya ia telah sesat dengan kesesatan yang jelas nyata.
So my dear brothers and sisters in Islam,
Remember that we who are living today have before us an endless ocean of information before us in the form of the internet depositories of an ever expanding encyclopedic trove of facts and stored information about Islam from reliable sources who have uploaded an inexhaustible cache of data and documentation about Islam.
Use your common sense in knowing how to seek out the relevant information and truth of our faith from the many search engines available online and if in doubt as to the authenticity of whatever it is that you find online, you are most welcome to email the relevant authorities of Islam or your preferred teachers and callers to the Way of Allah.
Muhammad al Mustafa Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam said:
“Whoever sits in a place in which there is much effusive talk should say prior to his getting up to leave from his seat:’Subhanak Allahumma wa bihamdik! Asyhadu alla ilaaha illa ant. Astaghfiruka wa atuubu ilaik!’ meaning ‘Glorified are You, O Allah and praised. I testify that there is no god except You. I ask Your Forgiveness and repent to You’. Then Allah will forgive him as to whatever occurred in that assembly.”
Concluding this article, I wish to remind all Muslims who are conscious of what is taking place nowadays in our life during this Akhirul Zaman to take care not to be caught amongst those who are incurring the Wrath of Allahu Rabbi by being recalcitrant against what He has already revealed to us by their stubbornness in submitting to His Will and Command.
We have a choice. If the company and form of conversation goes against our principles of Islam, we do not have to stay.
Just get up and leave. Seek the solace of being in the Redha of Allahu Ta’ala and exercise our options in seeking a much more beneficial and rewarding jamaah of likeminded Ikhwanul Muslimin na wal Muslimat. Insya Allah, you will find them more pleasurable and encouraging to your hearts and minds seeking the Maghfirah of Ar Rahman Ar Raheem.
May Allah bless us and grant us His Taufik and Hidayah for the sake of our remaining in His Path.
