Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
If there is one thing I love most after attending the Jumaat prayers at one of my neighborhood masjid’s @ Masjid Al Najihin, Bandar Sri Permaisuri, bordering Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur is to spend time with the Chief Imam and his mosque committee members.
Reason I do so is to learn of the latest developments, programs and any problems that they are facing which I might be able to assist with and help them out?
One thing I love most about the Masjid Al Najihin Mosque Committee is that almost all of them are quite young and forward thinking well educated and qualified Muslims.
The Chief Imam (black jubah) for example is quite IT savvy and is up to date with whatever is happening in the local and international Islamic Affairs scene. He is also one of my blog readers and is online with JAKIM, Putrajaya.
The gentleman in the pink Baju Melayu is the mosque’s Tok Siak @ Caretaker.
The tall lanky smiling young man besides me is the Khatib who hails from Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor. He says that he reads my blog too and came to know about my blog from the Chief Imam here. 🙂
Coincidentally, yesterday’s Jumaat Khutbah was about the benefits and dangers of utilizing the cyberspace. With the advent of the internet, Muslims have today the choice of using the world wide web to spread the truth of Al Islam and carry out Dakwah efforts online.
Yet at the same time, the young Khatib reminded us not to abuse the online media platform and abuse it like so many others who cause lots of mischief and harm to others by posting contents which are forbidden in our faith of Al Islam and to stay away from any such websites.
To me, it is a timely reminder for the congregation and such good advice must be broadcasted to the entire ummah.
I’m happy to get to be friends with these young Imams and I wish them well. May they be the leading examples of can do Muslims who will keep growing both in their knowledge and contribute to the development of our Bandar Tun Razak and Bandar Sri Permaisuri Muslim ummah. We need to support and assist them with whatever we can do for the betterment of the community.
May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala bless them all.
Ameen.
