Dear fellow Malaysians,
I don’t know about you but I find all the latest political theatrics here in Malaysia just a bloody bore and long for some peace and quiet.
Peace and quiet that I am sure those my age and senior enjoyed during the times of the late Allahyarham Tan Sri P.Ramlee.
‘Nak Dara Rindu’ is one of the many soothing songs sung by our nation’s best ever superstar that calmed many of us when times were tough just like the current situation in this changing nation.
Forget the idiots antics for a while and come disappear back into an era when life here in Malaysia was just simple and beautiful.

salam Mamu.. ni lagu kesukaan saya.. mmg sgt menenangkan.. political theatrics?? biasalah tu Mamu.. org ade power.. mesti nk lagi byk power tu..
Ish! Ish! Ish! Ish! Gila tahap gaban! 😀
Tuan Mahaguru,
Of all the lovely P. Ramlee songs, this particular one does not rank high in terms of popularity and it certainly is not one of of those played over and over again, or stand to be amongst those easily-whistled over. I myself did not really catch the actual "niceness" of the song (I found it boring) until one day, the London Symphony Orchestra came over. Oh this must be about 2 decades ago or so.
Now I found out that off all the melancholic P. Ramlee tunes, they chose this one to play. And when they did, gaaad! It was so beautiful and almost sounded like one of the world's greatest symphonies, akin to Schubert or Rimsky-Korsakov.
I find that some of the melancholic P. Ramlee songs are worthwhile listening to without their lyrics: just the musicality and tunes.
@Apocryphalist: you listen but you not go through it.
Lagu2 P.ramlee for me personally banyak nasihat2 yang berguna.. Most of his song dengar hari2 pun takpe.
Compare to nowadays song. They are not singing but they are screaming and shouting…
@Mahaguru58 : Lagu P.Ramlee memang best..duk layan lagu nie lupe jap masalah lain….I love P ramlee song….
Apochryphalist,
Sometimes the beauty of anything is only appreciated when one reaches a certain age or level of understanding.
As a 51 year old Malaysian, I have come to appreciate what gems the late P.Ramlee had produced and left for us to treasure.
This is one of those gems.
I simply forget for a while my worries and drown myself in its melody.
Brings me back to the times when I was just a small kampong kid in Jelutong, Penang.
When life was just so much simpler and uncomplicated and the sea of my village not polluted.
Sigh…..
Queen,
Tuanhamba baru bernikah ke?
Jika iya, saya ucapkan 'Selamat Pengantin Baru!'
Semoga aman sejahtera dan bahagia selalu.
Murah rezeki, sihat wal`afiat dan mendapat sedozen cahayamata!
