MAHAGURU58

The Truth must be told no matter what so Justice can live!

Email from Anand asking about certain religious matters? Part 1

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
Peace be upon you with the Mercy and Blessings of Allah!

Dear fellow Children of Adam Alaihis Salam.

Brothers and sisters,

I have received another email. This one is from Brother Anand. He asks about why Allah has created people who are evil even when Allah Himself the All Knowing God knows well in advance about the nature of such of His Creation even though they have been given a chance to change their lot in life?

Here are the contents of Anand’s email :

hi mahaguru, i have some doubts in religion. i have asked many religious leaders, but their answer is not convincable. i hope you can guide me.
1. let say one guy died as a criminal or kafir. he will go to hell right ? since god already know ( all knowing god) he will die as a criminal / kafir anyhow, why god let him born in first place ?
( i think all knowing god should know this guy will not change even though chances to change was given)
2. as i read evil created by god and ordered to obey human. but evil did not follow gods order. my question is before creation of evil, how come god doesn’t know evil will disobey HIS order ?
please dont answer as;
1.logical mind can’t be used to understand this.
2. it is beyond human capability to understand.
because all the religious leader give me the same answer.
thanks
anand

May peace be upon you brother Anand.

Thank you for emailing me your questions. I see that what you ask here borders on matters that concern Tawheed Al Rububiyyah. The Oneness of the Lordship of Almighty Allah.

It is sad that those whom you asked have yet to satisfy you with the right or acceptable answers.

Do know that what I am going to answer you with here is totally from my Islamic point of view and thus will be based upon my Islamic faith.

Please get your answers from my blog because I consider your questions worth publishing in my blog and my answers ought to help clear the air about the issues which you have raised that I think will also be beneficial to help others get the true picture about such matters.

Thank you.

Dear Anand.

Your first question is :
1. let say one guy died as a criminal or kafir. he will go to hell right ? since god already know ( all knowing god) he will die as a criminal / kafir anyhow, why god let him born in first place ? ( i think all knowing god should know this guy will not change even though chances to change was given)

My answers :

I have heard many others raise the same questions that you have asked here before. Only thing is that back then, I had no idea about the internet for I was then not a blogger but just a Da’ee @ Caller to Islam, based at the Masjid Kapitan Keling, City of Georgetown, Penang Island.

I answered those people right there and then and didn’t have the luxury of owning a computer as I do now or even had owned a digital camera to record such interactions.

Nevertheless, today, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala has graced me with such necessities and made me able to share with you what I have come to learn about these very things and am about to disclose here for the benefit of all others who might have these same questions brewing in their minds and troubling their hearts?

Alhamdulillah! All praises be to Allah, Lord of all Creation and Supreme Master of us all.

You ask as to why Allah the Almighty God created someone whom Allah Knew very well that he will die as a criminal or as a Kaffir in the very first place?

Good question!

Nah, I won’t answer using those two standpoints that you mentioned earlier about religious leaders telling you that logical mind can’t be used to understand the issues you raised or that it is beyond human capabilities to understand them?

Why would Allah create anything that will raise His Wrath or Anger?

Now, such a question is not something to be ignored or disregarded as the questions from a demented person or a raving lunatic!

No sirree! This is a solid question. Asked by someone who is using the mental faculties that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala gave him in the first place!

Now, let me try share with you what I have come to learn about the subject.

We all know that each and every thing that is before us is all created by Allah. Not an atom or micro anything has come to be on its own, both here in this planet and the zillions of other creation all over the universes.

This here is our planet which is called Earth by us using the Knowledge that Allah the Almighty gave to our Father, the Prophet Adam Alaihis Salam and from him to our Mother Sayyidatina Hawwa Radhiallahu Anha and so on to their offsprings and henceforth to our forefathers.

When Allah creates something that is liked, pleasing and loved by Him, we tend to agree and understand as to the reasons for its creation?

But why did Allah create evil?

Many ask this without fail! Why did Allah create all the nasty, useless, worthless and despised creation as well? Just like your reference to the criminal or the Kaffirs?

We must not forget the so called origin of Evil @ Syaitan, the Devil, Iblees, Lucifer, etc.

From what I have come to learn is that Syaitan used to be called ‘Azazil’ the Chief of the Djinns up there in the Yaum al Jannah @ Paradise @ Sorgam.

Allah the Almighty surely knows all about His Creation. If he were to create something like Man, surely He will need to create Man’s counter entity. These were the Djinns.

Verily Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala will not have created anyone or anthing in vain?

Allah has time and time again decreed that verily Syaitan is but Mankind’s enemy!

I bring forth to you a verse from Surah Yassin Chapter 36 Verse 60 that has Allah the Almighty warning us Mankind about Syaitan :

60. Alam aAAhad ilaykum ya banee adama an la taAAbudoo alshshaytana innahu lakum AAaduwwun mubeenun

60. “Did I not enjoin on you, O ye Children of Adam, that ye should not worship Satan; for that he was to you an enemy avowed?-

Now what I am going to say next might not go well with some but I dare say that for us to keep blaming Syaitan for each and every mistake that we humans do out of our own free will is just not fair to the accursed one!

I mean surely Allah Azza Wa Jalla knows well in advance that if He was to create Adam, our Father as His Vicegerent here on Earth, He, Rabbul Alamin will need to have a reason to expel Adam Alaihis Salam and our Mother Sayyidatina Hawwa Radhiallahu Anha from Paradise so that they may consummate their union as husband and wife and henceforth populate and fluorish this vast expanse of the Earth with their offsprings?

Allah will surely have it all in His Master Plan to have created Evil in the form of Syaitan pending His Creation of Adam up there in Paradise. Adam was created by Allah with Earth taken using force from the Mother Earth by the Angel Sayyidina `Iz’rail Alaihis Salam who was later appointed as the Malaikatul Maut by Allah!

This was Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala acknowledging `Iz’rail’s triumph in succeeding where all other Malaikat’s of Allah failed in that arduous task of gathering earth from all parts of the Mother Earth which refused to give up its earth for fear of Allah’s Jahannam @ Hellfire which will burn up both man and stone plus the djinns when they go against Allah’s Will!

Reason I am elaborating here is to give you the fuller wider picture and perspective as to why I say that anything and everything that has taken place is in accordance to exactly what Allah the Almighty has decreed and willed it to be and all that is taking place right now as well as all that will be coming later in the future?

In my studies about the question that you have posed to me, I find several references from the verses of the Holy Qur’an which are relevant to the subject matter.

In Surah Al An’am Chapter 6 Verse 148, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala tells us to ask those who dispute with us as to His Oneness :

148. Sayaqoolu allatheena ashrakoo law shaa Allahu ma ashrakna wala abaona wala harramna min shay-in kathalika kaththaba allatheena min qablihim hatta thaqoo ba/sana qul hal AAindakum min AAilmin fatukhrijoohu lana in tattabiAAoona illa alththanna wa-in antum illa takhrusoona

148. Those who give partners (to God) will say: “If God had wished, we should not have given partners to Him nor would our fathers; nor should we have had any taboos.” So did their ancestors argue falsely, until they tasted of Our wrath. Say: “Have ye any (certain) knowledge? If so, produce it before us. Ye follow nothing but conjecture: ye do nothing but lie.”

Brother Anand,
Your question dwells on the contention of what we humans tend to think of Allah as what we humans will weigh upon our likes and dislikes?

Our values and our system of good against evil does not come into the realm of the Creator. He the Creator set forth a perfect balance in His Creation.

When He creates beauty, He has to create its opposite ~ ugliness. So is the same with His creating Good ; He has to create Evil to be a balance so that there is both an exact opposite of another?

This is me speaking based upon my human logic.

There is always something contrary to it, be it anything that we can comprehend, see or contemplate upon?

If we are alive right now, there will come a time when it is our moment to die.

Allah in His Infinite Wisdom chose to create us for a reason.

We are all born pure, free from sin. It is our parents or those who became our guardians who raised us as either Hindus, Jews, Zoroastrians, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Taoists, Animists, or as Muslims?

No one is born to be a sinner, Brother Anand.

We choose to be this or that!

The criminal or the Kaffir decides as to whether he or she remains as one or moves on to become a Believer in Allah?

In Surah An Nahl, Chapter 16 Verse 35, Allah reveals to us what the Musyriks say :

35. Waqala allatheena ashrakoo law shaa Allahu ma AAabadna min doonihi min shay-in nahnu wala abaona wala harramna min doonihi min shay-in kathalika faAAala allatheena min qablihim fahal AAala alrrusuli illa albalaghu almubeenu

35. The worshippers of false gods say: “If Allah had so willed, we should not have worshipped aught but Him – neither we nor our fathers,- nor should we have prescribed prohibitions other than His.” So did those who went before them. But what is the mission of apostles but to preach the Clear Message?

Sadaqallah hal adzhim. Truthful is Allah the Most Powerful!

You see Brother Anand,
As humans, we are given the faculties of reason by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala to determine what is right and what is wrong for us?

We have not been left to our own devices by our Creator per se.

Allah Azza Wa Jalla has been sending to us Mankind, prophets and messengers totalling more than 124,000 of them starting with first our Father the Prophet Adam Alaihis Salam who was taught by Almighty Allah himself with all the knowledge and faith that he our Father Adam needed to know?

As Allah’s first creation @ prototype of being the first Man, what faith do you think Adam was taught by Allah, our Creator?

Would Allah have taught Adam to worship and glorify something else than Him? Surely not, right?

But that is Allah! Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.

Although He could if He wanted to, have created us to be as one race, same all over, all goody goody, law abiding, servants of Allah, where would there have been challenge?

What good would that do for anyone?

The criminal or Kaffir that you quoted as an example above surely have a choice, don’t they?

Don’t you?

You have the right to worship your true Creator and not something else that is either created by the hands of Man himself or imagined to be?

God describes Himself clearly to us Mankind through His Revelations in the Last and Final Testament to all of us including you that is the Holy Qur’an.

Although the language that God chose to reveal it is in Arabic, the language spoken by the Arabian people, the forefathers of the Final Messenger of Allah, Muhammad son of Abdullah, we can still learn it by using translations of the meanings of the Holy Quran or study Arabic ourselves?

Where there’s a will, there’ll definitely be a way, Anand!

The root answer to your 1st question is that Allah the Almighty did not create either the criminal or the Kaffir to be permanently as they chose to be!

It is a matter of self determination of each and every person here on Earth.

I choose to be a Muslim.

I was born as an Indian Muslim in a Malay kampong.

I got Islam free of charge. I was blessed to be able to grow up in an environment conducive of living life as a Muslim.

Different cases for different people. Just like yourself and all other human beings here on Earth.

When I was young, I was just like any other kid or child. I went to school, studied, returned home, did my chores at home, then played and learned to pray.

Have you seen ‘Lat the kampong boy’ cartoon series?

My life was pretty much like that, growing up in post Colonial days. Datuk Lat captured beautifully, the essence of my kampong life as it happened.

Islam is a Way of Life, Anand. There are plenty of do’s and don’ts in my faith. I’d be lying to you if I said that I was living a perfect life as a Muslim from the start!

No way. Just like any other young kid and later man, I did my fair share of bloopers which I’m not proud of?

Don’t have to air my dirty laundry here so to speak, but I come to think of those times as my own Age of Ignorance @ Alam Jahiliyyah.

But as I got older, I started to learn more about my Islamic faith and when I first got married to a woman who has 2 sons from her first marriage, I became an instant father to those boys who are now grown men and married!

Teaching those boys to be good Muslims required me to be one in the first place. A good Muslim, I mean.

So, I started to delve deeper into my faith and started learning from all the Ustaz’s and Mursyid’s that I could meet up with and spent many hundreds of days and nights seeking `Ilm from the masters and spiritual syeikhs of my home island State of Penang and at times even went to parts of Seberang Perai, Kedah and Perak to learn about my faith.

I joined the Tariqah al Naqsyabandi and learned about the spiritual side of my faith in depth from my Sufi Masters.

When I saw certain practices not in line with what I had come to learn about the true Ways of the Prophet Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam, I slowly withdrew myself from the over excesses of the ones who seemed to go overboard in their devotions and hero worshipping of the Sufi syaikhs.

I’m not saying that I’m better than anyone there but I have a choice and I’m exercising that choice to be on par with what I hold to be the right way of Islam.

Allah loves us Anand ; that’s why He has made our paths cross. Not to say that I’m the right man to guide you but Insya Allah, I will do all that I can within my scope to help you out with the understanding about what Allah is and what He definitely is not by sharing with you here all that I have and am continuing to learn from all reliable sources.

Let me share with you what I have come to learn of Allah’s Will (Masyi`ah) and Allah’s Likes (Mahabbah).

Some folks tend to generalize Allah’s Will with what He likes, is content with and His Love. To the uninitiated ones, such a blanket assumption unearths more difficulties and raises more grievances about the subject for it depends on one’s level of understanding about matters that at times borders between the physical and spiritual realm and acknowledgement of it when it comes to discussing matters concerning the Creator?

One needs to know how to differentiate between what Allah needs to allow something that He Dislikes and to be magnanimous enough to allow whatever that He Doesn’t Like to take place?

It also boils down to the matter of us who are humans to be content with what Allah Has Decreed upon us and as to whether we turn out to be His Grateful Servants appreciating all that He has blessed us with or to choose to be complainers and griping ingrates for the whole period of our lives?

Mankind always tends to gripe and snipe, bemoaning their misfortunes often overlooking all the benefits and privileges that Allah the Almighty Has Showered upon us!

In the Surah Al Asr Chapter 103 Verses 1 to 3, Almighty Allah reminds us as to the consequences of us choosing to be in Loss compared to the fate of those who remain patient, obeying Allah and strive continuously to improve themselves?

1. WaalAAasri

1. By (the Token of) Time (through the ages),

2. Inna al-insana lafee khusrin

2. Verily Man is in loss,

3. Illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati watawasaw bialhaqqi watawasaw bialssabri

3. Except such as have Faith, and do righteous deeds, and (join together) in the mutual teaching of Truth, and of Patience and Constancy.

Brother Anand,

I can keep going on and on about the free will that Allah gives us as to choose our destinies whether we prefer to go to Hell or Heaven?

We decide as to whether we choose to be a do gooder or be a vicious nasty criminal?

We choose as to whether we pray to and worship the True Creator or a figment of our imagination?

We decide as to whether we are a Believer or otherwise?

Allah has already sent to us our Manual of Instructions as to how best to live our short temporal lives here on Earth?

It is up to us to choose wisely and to prepare for the hereafter.

We can’t feign ignorance anymore.

We are living in the Age of Science and Technology. From the comfort of my home, I am able to reach out to you and all others using the internet to share the truth about these matters but it is entirely well up to you as to decide how best that you are going to use and digest all these morsels of information that I am putting up here?

Use your commonsense and listen to your heart! Insya Allah, you will get to learn about the Truth of Islam.

To be continued with more answers pertaining to this. Insya Allah!

End of Part 1.
