Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh!
May the Peace, Mercy and Blessings of Allah be upon those of you reading this report.
I stopped over at Sate Kajang Hj Samuri with my missus after stopping over at the Kajang SILK Highway mineral water refilling station today to fill up my needs for fresh mineral water straight from the granite hills there courtesy of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala and the kind permission of the Kajang Silk Highway authorities who have graciously allowed the motorists passing through to get their mineral water supply there.
Alhamdulillah. May they be blessed and the area remain as it is till Yaum al Qiyamat. Ameen.
Now, let’s move on to the main topic of this post here.
Sate Kajang Hj Samuri’s lousy service and poor quality!
Now, as we all know Sate Kajang Hj Samuri has long been touted to be among the best satay to be enjoyed when one wants to taste good satay here in Selangor?
Well, what I came to experience today made me really pissed off to the extent that I decided that this rip off by Sate Kajang Hj Samuri should no longer be allowed to go on without highlighting what they are doing to their customers all these while?
What am I so bloody angry about?
Well, for starters how about driving miles to go eat at the place only to be welcomed by unsmiling staff?
Yeah! The Sate Kajang Hj Samuri apparently employs indifferent folks who look as if they have a serious case of constipation that their facial muscles are frozen stiff incapable of a simple smile to make customers feel welcome?
I have been to various food establishments from the simplest roadside warongs and gerai’s to 5 star restaurants and know that most folks working there are always welcoming their customers and at some places where we are regulars, we get special attention and reasonable prices and at times we get discounts as well for frequenting them?
The indifferent manner of the Sate Kajang Hj Samuri staff really dampened my enthusiasm in going to eat there today and made me think:
” Well! What do you expect? These are just workers who have been working all day long and surely you can’t expect them to be all smiley and in their best of spirits?”
Well that’s just plain bullshit!!!
If these folks are so tired of working, then they should not be there to ill treat the many customers who have come from far and wide to eat at the place!
Customer service should be always tip top and up to par with the so called reputation of a public eating place!
All that I can say about Sate Kajang Hj Samuri is that the Malaysian people have been keeping quiet about these rip off’s far too long and have been suffering in silence when eating at the place and it’s various other outlets!
Sate Kajang Hj Samuri to me can be simply termed with these four words:
Lousy service! Poor Quality!
It’s not fair for us to just ignore such upstarts and just overlook such awful reception if you can call such @#$&*!! attitudes by couldn’t care less people as such?
Even Bangladeshi’s and Pakistanis working here in Malaysia know how to greet their customers well and make them feel welcome at the various eateries, restaurants and petrol pumps!
You don’t believe me?
Go and experience it for yourselves.
Now, if that wasn’t bad already, brace yourselves to see for yourselves how Sate Kajang Hj Samuri rips people off?
They serve chicken satay with strips of folded chicken skin in between.
To me as a Muslim that’s cheating the customers plain and simple !
No reason to beat around the bush about it?
Did I drive all those kilometers only to go and stuff myself with folded chicken skin disguised as chicken satay?
Can this dishonest means of passing off folded chicken skin as chicken satay be considered as a halal way of doing business?
To me, I say that kind of doing business is certainly not a hundred percent halal!
I recall a Hadith of the Blessed Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam when he sounded off a dishonest trader in the market for not being upfront in his trade!
The owner of Sate Kajang Hj Samuri obviously has failed to realize that by the actions of those who prepare the chicken satay sticks and insert pieces of folded chicken skin in between are robbing the customers of their rights to get good quality pure meat chunks to eat instead of almost puking when coming into contact with the chicken skin that the chicken satay sticks contain!
It’s disgusting and plain cheating of the customers who pay money to eat proper chicken meat but are instead served folded pieces of chicken skin clandestinely!
I dare say that if the proprietors of this famous satay restaurant feign ignorance, then they are just pulling a fast one on their unsuspecting customers!
Chicken skin satay is not what I paid for and to me it is simply disgusting to the palate!
Yup! Go have a taste and let me know if what I am saying and showing here in this following video is a figment of my imagination?
I even asked a passing customer about the service and quality of the satay there?
The man is a government servant from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah attending a course here and he was just as unhappy about the service and the low quality food plus indifference of the staff there!
There you have it. Lousy service and rip off of the customers by serving folded chicken skin in between chunks of chicken meat by Sate Kajang Hj Samuri.
As a paying customer and consumer, I am highlighting this to alert those of you who might inadvertently fall victim to this lousy place.
We have a choice and to me, I would look for a better satay restaurant the next time I have a wish to eat satay when in Kajang!
What does the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry has to say about this rip off?

Discrimination69,
Hahahahaha, u sounded very upset Mahaguru, well I stopped eating Kajang satay or Hj Samsuri satay mumteen years ago since the quality has dropped tremendously from the service to “kuah”to taste. My last eat there was 20 years ago.
My best satay is still at Jalan Kuchai Lama Beside AOG church by a Malay couple who moved from Ceras from Pantai Dalam when their house got burnt down. They standout amongst all other chinese stalls by the roadside selling “konlo mee”, prawn mee, Sotong kang kong and also best “chi chap chok” ( pig innards)chinese porridge – sorry my muslim friends, not recommended for you, that appeared in the tv programme “Ho Chiak”. Only small satay stall with 14 inch color TV to boot. Couple is very enterprising and industrious working till as late as the chinese stals open, truly Malaysians ( but from Indonesia ). Satay is cheap, meaty and nice, beef, kambing and chicken with efficient friendly service.
I can understand your frustration, your big pot belly groaning for some nice satay and then disappointed, what an anti climax for your day surely. Fei lo, watch your diet man, you not 100% fit , diabetes, high blood la. Diabetes make your brother weak ok!!! Kesian u la wakakakakakaka
Maybe you should try Palace Zakaria satay in Klang if it is not torn down yet for not paying all the dues to the local council, maybe cheaper, the towkay died recently leaving many to gossip about the circumstances of his death, cynical smile:)-
Assalamualaikum, tuan “mahaguru”.
do u remember that, Muslims are prohibited from insulting others or membuka aib orang secara umum. if you don’t like satay kajang specifically Hj. Sahmuri’s satay, because of the service, you should complaint it to persatuan pengguna malaysia.
and please remember that we must do everything in the name of Allah and not because we are pissed off!
take care and all the best.
yeah the last time i went there, the waiters were all sitting arnd and digging their teeth, then took my orders and served me……
i felt like puking ? Halal food with waiters digging their mouth before serving. Rather have clean non halal food right ?
Ha ha dear Guru..ya its frustrating having to pay for what the shop owner cannot deliver…I haven’t been to Kajang for satay for quite some time already because i feel that i can get the same quality and better service in KL. I must say that there are still many owners that do not move in tide with changing customers’ expectations. In this era it’s ‘no change no gain ‘for whatever sort of businesses one is in. Of course they are some who change…but for the worse. These owners have to wake up before they don’t have a chance to !
Thank you for informing us. This is the first time I’ve heard of satay sellers inserting chicken skin in between the meat…hmmm, how would they do it for the beef then?
By the way, what was the price per stick? 70 sen?
We had Sate Hj Samuri at R&R Dengkil (hala utara) yesterday on the way home from KLIA, and yes, the gravy tasted bland. I was having beef satay which was pretty indistinctive too. Service was so-so only.
Overall, the quality has indeed dropped. Nothing really special. Maybe in future we should give it a miss altogether.
Kaka Juda,
Mahaguru was just informing the consumers about the cheating at Hj Samuri Satay Kajang. I’m sure he will be complaining to Consumers Association after this.
Anyway if indeed we should not be shaming others in public, where the hell were you in 1998 when Anwar was shamed ?
Where were you in 1988 when Tun Salleh Abbas was shamed ?
Where were you in 1983 and 1994 when Raja Raja Melayu were shamed ?
This is ONLY satay we are talking about………..
discrimination69,
Thanks for the tips ad health advice! 😀
Lao pek like me don’t care that much anymore about whether one is a 100% fit. As long as can do what we need to do, kaw tim liao! 🙂
As for the diabetes, it’s under control. No high blood pressure.
Temper a bit normal lah.
Just sharing info so others can watch out as well, that’s what concerned bloggers like me do.
I don’t give a shit about those who pussy foot around issues like these because to me a consumer should watch out for those who try to pull a fast one on us, no matter whether the culprit is a Muslim or otherwise?
We are all the Children of Adam Alaihis Salam and we must take care of one another!
We are Malaysians maa!
Malaysians are best when we are color blind!
As for my detractors, well they can just go choke on the chicken skins for all I care!
😛
malayamuda,
Sorry to hear of your plight as well.
As for your stating that it’s okay for us to consume non halal food as long as it is clean, it is redundant bro!
When it is already non halal, how the hell can it be clean for us Muslims?
Aiyaa…that slipped your mind, eh?
Anyway, thanks for commenting! 🙂
kaka juda,
Muslims are in deep shit all over the world because they do exactly what you propose!
Stick our heads in the sand and stick out our butts like the proverbial ostrich for the enemies of Islam to skewer us for free?
Not for me sir!
I know what I am doing, thank you very much!
As for my sins in exposing this cheating by so called Muslims, let Allah judge me bro and not you!
I do hope that you are not in the satay trade to feel so slighted, for a cheat is still a cheat no matter what faith or race he or she is!
Thanks for your advice! Really appreciate it!
Cheers!
virtual reality,
We are on the same wavelength on this!
Thanks for understanding my points!
Take care bro.
kiddokit,
It’s not about the freaking price of satay bro!
I’ve spent hundreds on dinners for me and my wife to make a fuss about the price!
I was not happy about the service and the attempt to pass off inedible chicken skin between meat chunks, if you still can’t understand the main reasons for my post here?
No complaints about the price sir.
***It’s about the lousy service and the rip off***.
Hope you are now clear about the subject. 🙂
Thank you.
naim y,
Only those who have gone through what we faced will understand the matter.
Thanks for the feedback.
Take care bro.
I agree that the service of the satay outlet is bad. I have my own experience. A few years back my late brother came to Kuala Lumpur and I took him to the restaurant at Kajang. It was a bit late but the business is still on. We ordered satay and drinks and you know what? About 15 minutes after the food was served, they suddenly switched off the lights and we are saved for some outdoor lighting and the street lights or else were in the dim lit first floor outdoor eating area. The workers start packing and left the place. We are there eating and finishing our satay. Yes, all by ourselves. Is that not rude of a restaurant operator to just leave the customer?
The name of Satay Kajang Haji Samuri has been spoilt by day and by their workers itself.
Stop at the Sungai buloh R&R for the satay from the same operator. Service is bad too. How can we live up to Malaysian Hospitality and compete with other foreign francise fast food outlets?
Zach,
You made my day man! There you have it!
To those who thought that I was doing wrong by exposing the sins of a fellow Muslim’s business screwups, well what do you have to say about Zach’s unfortunate experiences, huh?
What kind of business people are these idiots when they switch off the lights and leave their paying customers eating in the dark???
Even a roadside mamak selling mee goreng will have the courtesy to wait patiently for his customers to finish eating!
When a business that has grown to such a humongous position in the satay trade there in Kajang and elsewhere in Selangor, arrogance and couldn’t care less attitudes have crept in to this obviously ‘sombong and bongkak’ Muslim business!
I for one will never again patronize this particular satay outlet.
There are many other better choices everywhere.
As to the supporters of Sate Kajang Haji Samuri, go ahead and do as you please.
As a consumer who had a bad time eating there, I believe it is my right to highlight my grievances here in my personal blog.
No matter that we don’t pay for the Google provided blog, we do play a huge part in the build up and success of Google providing all other related services to internet based companies.
A blogger like me will keep on writing what I believe to be worthy of publishing for sharing with my readers.
Not happy about my writing, too bad.
It’s a matter of choice, ain’t it?
Read what you like.
The internet has endless sites that cater to all people.
Go on start a Sate Kajang Haji Samuri Fan Club.
I have absolutely no objections!
Cheers!
To Malayamuda and Mahaguru,
If you take action like what happened in 1988’s case, you are nothing but similar to them.
Don’t get me wrong, i’m not defending satay sahmuri. I’m just telling you my personal opinion and i respect you answer.
And mahaguru, we don’t tick our heads in the sand and stick out our butts. That means we do nothing. My suggestion is we go for a proper way. Going back to the satay’s story, let the customer judge the owner of the restaurant and don’t influence them. He’s running a bussiness, and your statement might affected his bussiness.
I don’t judge you, but God give us brain to think. Use it wisely and thank you for the reply.
