Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
I refer to the statement of this nation’s Deputy Prime Minister who said that this nation has been an Islamic nation all along as reported here.
“Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the country had never been a secular state, but was governed by the fundamentals of Islam.
“Secular by the Western definition is a separation of Islamic principles in the way we govern the country. We have never been affiliated to that position.
“We have always been driven by our adherence to the fundamentals of Islam and the Constitution states that Islam is the country’s official religion,” he said after opening the International Conference on the Role of Islamic States in a Globalised World on behalf of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.”

I for one do not agree with his statement for it is only a shallow interpretation of what an Islamic Nation in the true sense means.
Even those who aren’t Muslims are clearer about such a definition of what a true Islamic Nation stands for as shown in the related News and Commentaries section of the Malaysia-Today.net alternative news portal.
My understanding of a true Islamic Nation is a country ruled according to the Syariah Laws of Islam as laid out in the Holy Qur’an and the authentic Hadiths and Sunnah of the Prophet of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam.
To date, there is none that has yet to truly qualify as an Islamic Nation as Almighty Allah commands us to live in or as what the Messenger of Allah established in Madinah al Munawwarah in Arabia.
Nations that call themselves as Islamic have failed to put to practice the true teachings of the true Faith of Islam to the letter and most only pick and choose certain parts of the Syariah and come up with their own versions or interpretations of it.
I visited the Museum of Letters in the Malaccan Museums Complex last Sunday. The Malaccan Code clearly practiced the Syariah Laws way back then as depicted in the many exhibits displayed at the museum.
The picture above shows the exact punishment for adulterers as laid out in the Hudud Laws of Islam and was practiced in the era of the Sultanate of Melaka.
Pray tell us since when has this punishment for the adulterers of this nation ever been imposed and put to practice as what our nation’s rulers here are saying?
They make a mockery of Allah’s Laws and come up with their own misconstrued versions of punitive measures that has in a way increased the occurrence of sex related crimes in this so called Islamic nation where the majority of the sexual predators and adulterers comprise of the Malay Muslims, who are as they are today due to the blatant misinterpretation of the actual Syariah Laws of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala!
It is a shame and irony that the true teachings of Islam is left to be in the museums and not put to practice by those present day rulers who do not practice what they preach.
To list in detail all the transgressions taking place in this nation running contrary to the true Islamic Laws and teachings will make this post a very, very, long article.

The day that this nation is ruled a 100% according to the Holy Qur’an, the Sunnah and the Hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam, will be the day that this nation’s leaders can without an iota of doubt proclaim to the whole wide world that the Kingdom of Malaysia is a true Islamic Nation.
Until that happens, please spare us the drivel.

Btol~! Btol~! Kalau nak buat biar betul2. Kalau nak buat separuh2…tak payah buat terus lagi elok.
We are neither a secular state or an islamic state but we are a “negara islam”.
Whether Najib is aware or not, he did not say anything controversial.
“Negara Islam” could mean “Islamic state” which we are not as Tuan Mahaguru has pointed out.
And, “Negara Islam” could mean “islamic nation” which we are … for our leaders are Muslims, majority of peopel are and practise ISlam, our legal and constitution provide for Islam syariah, and we have done or tried to do all the essence of Islam except for Hudud.
For all these DAP and PKR rabble rousing of secular state, please refer to teh constitution that place islam as religion of the federation, allow for state funding for islamic institution and administration, and lina joy case has demonmstrated that syariah court has its own area of authority.
Its no secular state which insist on separation of church or religion from the state. Conveniently, anwar ibrahim, lim kit siang, duo muslim lawyers, SIS and the rest conveniently refuse to admit.
SO, we muslim bloggers shd make a point to tell em that Malaysia is not a secular state, if it is not a islamic state.
Definately it is a nagara islam!
