It is with sadness and concern that I share with you a newsflash that fellow Malaysian Blogger Nathaniel Tan is reportedly being held in the Royal Malaysian Police HQ in Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur, for questioning.
I met Nat and his girlfriend Soon Li Tsin @ Politikus at the BUM 2007 Gathering at Club Lakeview a couple of months back for the first time and then again at the recent DAP Inter Faith Forum at Hotel Armada, Petaling Jaya.
The picture above was taken of us with Howsy ( in striped blue shirt), Politikus ( the pretty lass) and her beau Nat ( smiling side profile of his face showing) at the BUM 2007 event.

Is our nation finally free no more for freedom of thoughts and expressions in our own personal tiny spaces in Blogosphere or is this having to do with politics as Nathaniel is also the webmaster for the Opposition National Justice Party @ Parti Keadilan Rakyat, which has only 1 or 2 seats to speak?
Does it have anything to do with his other site at bangkit.net?
I don’t have the actual reasons as to why he is being held for questioning by our Special Branch as the newsflash is a bit vague and not official but still it’s cause for concern to me as a fellow Blogger and Malaysian citizen as well.
I pray that the SB officers will treat him in a befitting manner as Brother Nat is not a threat to the nation as I see it.
Yeah, he is a bloody Opposition party webmaster but if it is due to his writings that he is being questioned, then I think our SB just needs to take a look at the nation’s # 1 Alternative News Portal at Malaysia Today.net which will make some folks blush at the way some of their commentors speak and thrash the government day in, day out without fail!
With today’s advancements in internet forensics and tracing capabilities of any ‘subversive’ writing, they can get all that they are looking for if they want to.
All I ask and pray for tonight is to hear of Brother Nat’s release safely back to his worried sweetheart Politikus and back to our fold in the Malaysian Blogosphere.
May Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala grant me my wish. Amin. Ya Rabbal Alamin.
