“The IFC will never be allowed to be set up in this nation!” so vowed Dato Seri Hishamudin Tun Hussein Onn, the UMNO Youth Chief during the General Assembly of UMNO at the Putra World Trade Center here in Kuala Lumpur!
Voicing concerns over how certain groups were taking advantage of the new openness and transparency of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s administration, he believed that some were testing the Government’s tolerance.
“Race and religious issues are being discussed without considering rationally the impact they will have on race relations in the country.
“What should have been constructive criticism has turned out to be vindictive, a venting of anger and hatred, malice and envy,” he said.
He warned the Article 11 group to steer clear of Article 11 and Article 121(1A) of the Federal Constitution and not to question the rights of Malays and the position of Islam, as this could stir up Malay and Muslim emotions.
Matters relating to Islam should be decided by the Syariah Court, not the civil court, he said.
Umno Youth, he added, wanted the Government to continue to reject the setting up of the Inter-Faith Commission. Excerpts from The Star Online.
I say ‘Syabas’ to Dato Seri Hishamudin for being steadfast and straightforward in hitting the last nail in the coffin for the proposed ‘King of all Commissions in the whole wide world!’ @ the grandiose Inter Faith Commission that is the brainchild of the Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism and Sikhism!
The agenda of the IFC is nothing but to interfere and dictate to the Malaysian Muslims as to how to practice our God given faith @ Islam and to deny the rights of our children to be raised as Muslims from birth and to deny them their status as Muslims until they reach the age of 18!
I wrote against this IFC several months back here and here. I even have the Draft of the IFC here for you to evaluate and imagine the preposterous grand designs these people behind this attempt to bulletproof their selfs under guise of a ‘fully powered and fully armored legal action proof’ commission to rule us from within the legitimate Malaysian government!
This time around, my full support goes to UMNO for stating it to the IFC’s face that their plans to implode Islam in Malaysia from within is dead and buried effective from this UMNO’s General Assembly!
Kudos to PM Dato Seri Abdullah Badawi, Deputy Prime Minister Dato Seri Najib Tun Razak and Dato Seri Hishamudin Tun Hussein Onn for this hammering of the nail into the ‘IFC’s coffin!
I believe cremation is the best and most fitting end for this MCCBCHS’s dreams to build their collective ‘bulletproof’ religious dialogue pretentious empire from inside the Barisan Nasional Government of Malaysia!
Although I have lambasted the PM and his anointed Deputy all this while for their oppressive price hike measures that have caused us the people of Malaysia to fork out more money for fuel and all other basic necessities as a result of their ordered price increases, this official warning and government policy denying the IFC from ever coming into power is God sent!
Alhamdulillah! Those behind the IFC better count their blessings and appreciate the freedom of professing their respective faiths as they have been blessed to do so all these while!
One does not destroy whatever relative peace and harmony that the nation has been enjoying since Merdeka just because some folks in the MCCBCHS started getting too big for their breaches!
No one’s stopping the Malaysian Non Muslims from practicing their individual faiths. You are all free to carry on worshipping whatever you have been praying to all your lifes and those of your forefathers.
I am sure that all rational, clear minded fellow citizens reading this will agree with my points!
The only thing we Malaysian Muslims ask is to allow us to worship Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala as per our rights and that we accord each other our own spaces and freedom to live in peace and harmony!

You’d be surprised to know that until today, I still got the IFC email (“they’ll present the memorandum to the court this July” bla bla bla). It’s November already!

Looks like the lot of you just fell for UMNO’s little sandiwara.
The IFC was put to rest a long time ago. But they bring it up and make a hullaballoo over it and the Melayu Mudah Lupa syndrome takes care of the rest.
The IFC was destined to fail from the start. Last thing we need is a federal religious bureaucracy enshrining in laws how religion should be practiced.
But don’t march to the beat that comes from UMNO Youth beating a dead horse, for goodness sake.
