HAVE A HEART FOR THESE NEEDY CASES:
Cabbie seeks RM70,000 for kidney transplant Source :http://tinyurl.com/qkv65
KUALA LUMPUR, March 15:
He used to drive passengers around the city, but he must now be driven by others for dialysis treatment.
Former taxi driver Manoharan Arugumam, 49, has been out of work since he suffered kidney disease two years ago.
He needs RM70,000 for a kidney transplant surgery in India.
Manoharan has to fork out RM2,000 a month for dialysis treatment at Kajang Dialysis Centre.
He has to depend on his mother’s pension and his younger brother’s income for a living.
He said: “My mother has to support my six children, too. She gives them RM2 a day.”
Manoharan said that his mother, A. Kuilama, 75, received a pension of RM300 a month, but this is insufficient to cover the cost of his family’s necessities and the children’s education.
Manoharan’s wife, A. Maragatham, said the children have to depend on the school bus to go to school, as he is ill.
Manoharan’s taxi was withdrawn by its owner as he could not afford to pay the rental for it.
MIC central working committee member Mohan Thangarasu presented Manoharan with RM2,000 at the MIC headquarters in Jalan Rahmat yesterday.
He said: “We will be providing for the children’s education. We want them to have a good future.”
Mohan said the MIC has created a fund for Manoharan’s treatment.
The public can donate to the fund by cheque, bank draft or money order, payable to ‘Tabung Manoharan’ and addressed to Biro Sosial Dan Kebajikan, Pergerakan Pemuda MIC Kebangsaan, 12, Jalan PBP 5, Taman Industri Pusat Bandar Puchong, 47100 Puchong, Selangor.
Donations can also be made to Manoharan’s account at: A/C Manoharan A/L Arumugam 62083-0-02-002177-6 Alliance Bank

BOY, 3, NEEDS RM35,000 for Heart Surgery Source : http://tinyurl.com/mg5mn
KUALA LUMPUR, March 15:
A three-year- old boy needs RM35,000 to undergo heart surgery at Gleneagles Medical Centre (GIMC) to lead a normal life.
The surgery, known as Glenn Shunt, will switch Goh Zheng Yi’s two arteries back in place, close a hole in the heart, and narrow a vessel to the lungs.
“Currently, blood does not flow smoothly to his lungs,” said his mother, Chang Seow Ping, 35, at the medical centre yesterday.
“I sincerely hope there will be public donations to cover my son’s medical expenses and surgery,” she said.
Those wishing to help Zheng Yi should send cheques with the child’s name written on the back, made payable to, The Cashier, Finance Department/Charity Unit, The New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd, Balai Berita at No: 31, Jalan Riong, 59100 Kuala Lumpur.

Meanwhile, one-month-old Lam Xi Yuan is recuperating after undergoing corrective heart surgery for a blocked aorta at the hospital on March 3.
He was discharged last Monday. Earlier, Xi Yuan’s parents had appealed to the public to donate RM25,000 to enable him to undergo the surgery.
“I am very happy that he is well now. Thank you,” said his mother, Lai Wai Yuen, 34.
Seems that the public and not the government helped the baby. So much for the ‘caring government’ slogan.

She was born with a heart ailment and has to undergo surgery.
Her father, Ahmad Lebai Pin died in 1995, and her mother Che Amah Ismail, 53, a housewife in Yan, Kedah, has three other children, aged 19, 21 and 23.
The eldest, Idawati, an insurance agent earns RM600 a month.
She is helping to support the family.

NOW, DOES MALAYSIA NEED TO SPEND BILLIONS TO SEND TO SPACE ITS ‘ASTRONAUTS’ NOW AND NOT HELP THE DESPERATE CITIZENS ABOVE?
Check this out : http://tinyurl.com/ngew3
We welcome new forays into science and technology for the nation but at times, we really need to check our priorities.
There are hundreds and thousands of poor needy people like those above who need money to save themselves via getting operations and corrective surgery.
Who need help more? The people above or the ‘Malaysia Boleh’naut?

First of all, the space program is not funded directly by the government. It comes in package when the defence ministry bought some figther jets from Russia. (For what the fighter jets are, is another question all together). It’s like buy a house we give a hair clip free! :)) The scientific reasearch will be done by the russian astrounauts. The Malaysian would be tour-guest only!
Now about the sicks, it is funny how those who can’t afford to pay medical bills opt for treatment in private institution. Why is the need of going to India? What is the need of being treated in Gleneagles Medical Centre?
My suggestion is, rather then setting up individual “Tabung Him” and “Tabung Her”, the government and the people should focus on improving the government medical facilities and give free tratments for its citizen. Asking for donation on individual basis is really fishy. There are alot more sick then you see on TV. I suspect some vested interests are doing cherry picking on who to show and who not!!! The billions saved from various subsidy deduction, tax, zakaath all should be used to provide free health care and free education. These are the foundation of a nation building. Healthy and educated citizen, no?
Lets talk about zakaath. What was the rate paid by muslims last year’s fitrah zakaath. how many muslims are there in Malaysia? At this rate, should we have a single poor muslim? This is interesting. Lets do the math. And ask the question. Where is the zakaath money?
Shalu,
Your contention that the space trip is part and parcel of the Sukhoi Jets purchase deal by Malaysia from Russia is accepted as a known fact.
The thing is that even if the space trip is part of the deal, surely the Malaysian Government would be spending millions still on the other expenses of sending their ‘Bolehnauts’ to Russia where they will be undergoing training etc.
The thing is , does Malaysia need to go do something extravagant like this ?
What does Malaysia expect to do in space?
Do we really need to go to space?
Is Malaysia that filthy rich to go plant what in space?
Do they want to go stick the ‘Jalur Gemilang’ on the moon’s surface?
Even if they get to do that , how is that going to help the nation in any area?
Isn’t this a foolhardy egoistic trip for this nation’s moneywasters running this government?
The money that is surely going to be wasted on such idiotic explorations would be better used to provide free health treatments for this nation’s poor and provide welfare to folks such as we see lining up to collect charity from even Haraam sources such as the Sports Toto outlet in Sg. Petani!
You have a great idea there.
The thing is, do you think for even a split second that the powers that be will even listen to people like us?
Regarding your question why the fella with the damaged kidney needs to go seek treatment in India, I guess the reason being that kidneys are easily available for transplanting in India’s hospitals.
I have read that some Indians sell one of their kidneys to hospitals in order to get some money!
God knows if such things really take place there.
Regarding the Gleneagles Medical Centre being the top choice for the heart patients wanting to seek treatment there, it must be the hospital’s excellent track records of successfully treating heart patients via surgery etc.
If you happen to be in their shoes, God Forbid, then you wouldn’t be questioning why this , why that?
Naturally, even the poor want to have the best options available to them when it is a matter of life and death!
To talk about zakat, you need to first be a Muslim.
Being Shalu doesn’t cut it. No Zakat officer will entertain a single question from you because it doesn’t concern you as you are not a Muslim!
Those fellas at the Pusat Pungutan Zakat wouldn’t bat an eyelid towards you when you ask them about the funds.
Try becoming Siti Shalini binti Abdullah! 😀
Then you will have ‘locus standi’ to ask them anything!
You ready to be so? 😛
Sir
Your contention that the space trip is part and parcel of the Sukhoi Jets purchase deal by Malaysia from Russia is accepted as a known fact.

I fully agree! I was just pointing out that the space trip is free. I even questioned the need of buying so much fighter jets for a reletively small country like Malaysia in a reletively peaceful region like SEAsia. Malaysian government waste so much money in so many other useless projects like PutraJaya, National Mosque, KLCC, KLTower, Sepang circuit and whatever. I hope you question these too!!!
The thing is, do you think for even a split second that the powers that be will even listen to people like us?
Sir, in a ponggacha society like Malaysia, where the citizen will argue and oppose to every other policy set forth by the government, but when come election time they only see “The Dacing”, you cannot expect a people centered government!!! They know they can get by with anything. They can screw the people for five years. The people can detest them for five years. and they’ll get another five years of continuos screwing!! I know that. You know that. Everybody know that. So we can only cry.
have read that some Indians sell one of their kidneys to hospitals in order to get some money!
People everywhere do alot of unacceptable things in order to get money sir. It is a capitalist world after all! I read somewhere that some in Malaysia, prostitutes themselves to get money. Does that makes it ok for you to get their service when ever you get a hard on!? No, na? It is illigal to sell kidney in India. So if you go to India to buy kidney, even if without a kidney transplant you’ll die…you will be doing illigal activity. So, to ask for donation to do illigal stuff is comical!!!
Regarding the Gleneagles Medical Centre being the top choice for the heart patients wanting to seek treatment there, it must be the hospital’s excellent track records of successfully treating heart patients via surgery etc.
I agree! That’s why I suggested that the government provide healthcare of high quality and free of charge or atleast at a minimum charge to the people. Being healthy is everybody’s right. And it is the responsibility of the government to provide them. There are a whole lot of sick people in this country that do not get in to the TV program because some at the top is doing pick and choose. By the way, is there any acountability of the money donated ths way? How much goes into the pocket of the various sponsors of these people? This is the main reason I oppose to this type of ponggacha donation.
To talk about zakat, you need to first be a Muslim.

Those fellas at the Pusat Pungutan Zakat wouldn’t bat an eyelid towards you when you ask them about the funds.
I know that sir. That’s why I am asking you. An estemed Muslim. I thought being a serius Muslim, you would know where the zakaath money go to the last cent. Being a Muslim, I know the officers would entertain every single question from you. So could you please find out. If not, I probably can help you out!!!
By the way, since Pusat pungutan Zakat is a non-profit organization, their account sould be available to the public. I am not sure about thi, but you can always check them out, na?
Try becoming Siti Shalini binti Abdullah! 😀
I have responded to this aptly in MENJ’s blog. So I don’t think it needs to be repeated. But I have a doubt. Are you trying to convert me to Islam or are you trying to make me a Malay? because the name you suggested, Siti is neither Muslim nor Arabic. It’s a Malay name, being used by Malays to address their women whom they love and respect highly. It’s the equvilant of the term Bibi being used by your community. That’s why you’ll hear a Malay Muslim call Khadija Siti Khadija and an Indian Muslim call her Khadija Bibi!!! Or are you saying that in order to be a Muslim in Malaysia, you gotta be a Malay?
Unlike you sir, I need neither be a Muslim nor a Malay to live happily here or elsewhere. So Thanks, but no thanks for your invitation. Unless of course you could prove to me I can be a better person being either one.
First and foremost, please understand that my asking you to be ‘Siti Shalini’ is because I care for you.
Drop the ‘Siti’ if you don’t like it.
Just be Shalini binti Abdullah.
You don’t become a ‘Malay’ when you become a Muslim.
No one does. Being a Muslim is being back to one’s nature of submitting to God.
You can’t change who you are by race.
Michael Jackson tried to take the black out of him but we all know what happened to him.
We are all beautiful in our own ways. That’s the beauty of Allah’s Creation.
The myriad of colors and variations add variety to this world.
Just look at the Hajj.
Humanbeings from all walks of life gather together to worship Allah the Almighty as one single entity of mankind worshipping just One Supreme Creator.
You may rant, you may rave but when you eventually die , you will discover for yourself whether you have been right in Denying Him!
In the Afterlife, which I believe there is, we will all be judged according to our Deeds.
I don’t dare say that I will be absolved of all my sins , but I seriously have my faith solidly placing my hope for me to be Forgiven for all my screwups by Allah the Almighty.
What else is there if not HOPE that God Almighty with His Oceans of Mercy Will Forgive Us who try our level best to toe the line and live according to His Will and His Way?
I can’t force you to be amongst us who choose to submit to God.
You are not stupid as we all know from your endless voicing out all these while against all things that you do not agree to.
However, being able to speak ‘smartly’ does not mean that you are right and we are all wrong or vice versa.
I can only share what I feel. The choice is entirely up to you.
I don’t have the need to go poke around the PPZ for I have no immediate need to be an unofficial public auditor of their accounts.
My bone is with the government at large for not looking into the affairs of those few who had to go to such extents of even getting some financial assistance from clearly forbidden sources such as the old malay folks in Sg.Petani from the Sports Toto.
I am not asking the government to go spoonfeed anyone. I am just asking that the people responsible over the welfare of such hardcore poor citizens go do something for these people, that’s all.
You have a good heart in wanting to see the poor get free treatment just like the rest of us.
It is all up to those who have the power to do the right thing!
It is all that we ask.
mahaguru58, look back at your article, look at shalu`s first comment, your respond, shalu`s second`s comment and your final comment.
From those, we all can see how irrational and unprofessional you are. At times I wanted to laugh at you and at other times, I feel sad to have malays like you.
Worrier,
Me and Shalu have a long history going back a year before.
I am just joking with her.
Please do not jump to any conclusions and assumptions about us by just reading my ripostes to her.
It doesn’t matter what you think or want to say about me for you have yet to really know me as a person.
If you would like to know, who or what I really am, call 016-3969881 or if you are in KL, just give me a buzz and we can have a cuppa at KLCC or what to just have a friendly banter.
No worries.
After that , you can come to any conclusions about who I am or not.
Fair enough?
I dok melawak dgn si Shalu tu. U tak payah dok emosional sangat, Syeikh! 😛
Berpada pada lah tika berkata.
Boleh brader?
